What Is
Cosmetic Dentistry in
Orange, CA?

Treatment that improves how your smile looks, without ignoring how it works.

Cosmetic dentistry covers the treatments that change the shape, color, size and alignment of your teeth: porcelain veneers, professional whitening, tooth-colored bonding and fillings, crowns, and full smile makeovers that combine several of them.

At Glo Dental Studio, cosmetic work starts with a healthy foundation. We examine your teeth and gums first, because a veneer bonded over decay or an untreated gum problem will not last. Once your mouth is healthy, we design the new smile digitally so you can see the proposed result before any enamel is touched.

Some goals need very little. Professional teeth whitening alone transforms a smile that is healthy but stained. Others need restorations, and implants can be part of a cosmetic plan when teeth are missing, so see dental implants as well. Browse real patient before-and-after results to see the range.

Cosmetic Treatments We Offer in
Orange, CA

Four ways we improve the look of a smile.

Porcelain Veneers & No-Prep Veneers

Thin custom porcelain shells bonded to the front of the teeth to correct chips, gaps, worn edges, crowding and stains that do not respond to whitening. Where teeth are small, spaced or set back, no-prep veneers can be bonded with little or no enamel removal. Every veneer is designed to your face and shade and made in our own lab.

Professional Teeth Whitening

In-office whitening brightens natural teeth by several shades in a single visit, and custom take-home trays let you control the pace. It is the least invasive cosmetic treatment we offer, and often the only one a healthy smile needs. Full details are on our teeth whitening page.

Tooth-Colored Bonding and Fillings

Composite resin is shaped directly onto the tooth to repair a chip, close a small gap or replace an old silver filling, then polished to match the surrounding enamel. Bonding is usually completed in one visit and removes very little tooth structure.

Crowns and Smile Makeovers

When a tooth is heavily worn, cracked or root-canal treated, a crown restores it while matching your other teeth. A smile makeover combines crowns, veneers and whitening into one plan, so the finished result is even in shade, shape and proportion.

No-Prep Veneers in Orange County

Veneers with little or no drilling, when your teeth are the right shape for them.

No-prep veneers are ultra-thin porcelain veneers, around 0.3 to 0.5 mm, bonded to the front of the teeth with minimal or no enamel removal. Because the tooth underneath is left intact, the treatment is conservative and, in many cases, reversible.

They work best for teeth that are small, slightly spaced, worn short or set back, where adding a thin layer improves the shape without making the teeth look bulky. Teeth that are crowded, heavily stained or already full-sized usually need a conventional porcelain veneer with a light preparation, so the finished tooth sits in line with the others.

At Glo Dental Studio we design both kinds digitally from your photographs and scans, and the veneers are made in our own laboratory. Dr. Bui will tell you honestly which option your teeth suit; we do not fit no-prep veneers where the result would look thick or the edges would be hard to clean.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Cosmetic Dentistry?

Find out which treatment fits your smile and your goals.

Most adults with healthy teeth and gums are candidates for cosmetic treatment. What differs is which treatment fits, and that depends on what bothers you about your smile, how much tooth structure is left, and how your bite comes together.

Cosmetic dentistry may be right for you if you:

  • Have stained or discolored teeth that whitening alone has not fixed
  • Have chipped, cracked or worn front teeth
  • Have gaps or small alignment issues you would rather not treat with braces
  • Have old fillings or crowns that no longer match your other teeth
  • Have teeth that look short or uneven from grinding
  • Are missing a visible tooth
  • Have healthy gums, or are willing to treat gum disease first
  • Want a specific result for a wedding, a photograph or a career change

Some conditions are treated before cosmetic work begins. Active decay, gum disease and heavy grinding all shorten the life of veneers and bonding, so we address them first and often add a night guard to protect the finished result. If several teeth are broken down or your bite has collapsed, the right plan may be a full mouth reconstruction rather than veneers alone.

At your consultation, Dr. Bui examines your teeth, gums and bite, listens to what you want changed, and shows you the options, including the conservative ones. We will tell you when whitening or bonding would achieve what you are after, instead of recommending more treatment than you need.

Cost of Veneers and Cosmetic Dentistry in Orange, CA

What changes the price of a cosmetic plan.

Cosmetic dentistry is not one price, because it is not one treatment. Whitening is the least expensive option, bonding sits above it, and veneers and crowns cost more because each one is custom made for a single tooth. Porcelain veneers and no-prep veneers in Orange County are priced per tooth, and the total depends on how many teeth are being treated, the material chosen, and whether any repair or gum treatment is needed first.

Cosmetic treatment is usually not covered by dental insurance, but the restorative part of a plan often is. A crown on a cracked tooth, for example, may be a covered benefit even when the shade match is cosmetic. We check your plan and tell you which portion is likely to be covered before you commit.

To make treatment more affordable, Glo Dental Studio accepts:

  • Cherry
  • Proceed
  • Alpheon
  • Visa

Financing lets you spread payments instead of paying all at once. You receive a written estimate for the whole plan at your consultation, so there are no surprises once treatment starts.

How a Cosmetic Plan Comes Together

Three steps from the first visit to the finished smile.

01

Consultation and Smile Design

We start with an examination, digital X-rays and photographs, and a conversation about what you want changed. Using digital smile design, Dr. Bui models the proposed shape and proportion of your teeth so you can see the direction before any treatment is agreed.

02

Preparation and Temporaries

For veneers and crowns the teeth are prepared conservatively and a digital scan is taken instead of a putty impression. You wear temporaries made from the approved design, which lets you test the look and feel of the new smile while the final restorations are produced.

03

Fitting and Final Adjustments

Your final restorations are made in our in-house lab and tried in before they are bonded, so shade, edge shape and bite can be adjusted while changes are still easy. We check the fit again at a follow-up visit and recommend a night guard if you grind.

Why Choose Glo Dental Studio for Cosmetic Dentistry?

Digital design, an in-house lab, and a dentist who says when less is enough.

Cosmetic results depend on two things: the plan and the ceramist. We keep both in the practice. Cases are designed digitally from your own photographs and scans, and the final restorations are made in our own dental laboratory, so a shade or contour that is slightly off can be corrected the same week instead of being posted back and forth.

We are also conservative about enamel. Enamel does not grow back, so we prefer whitening and bonding when they will achieve your goal, and reserve veneers and crowns for teeth that genuinely need them.

FAQs About Veneers & Cosmetic Dentistry in Orange County

Answers to common questions before your consultation.

How much does cosmetic dentistry cost?

It depends entirely on the treatment. Whitening is the least expensive, bonding costs more, and veneers and crowns are priced per tooth because each one is custom made. The number of teeth treated and the material chosen drive the total. Cosmetic treatment is usually not covered by insurance, though the restorative part of a plan often is. We give you a written estimate at your consultation and offer financing through Cherry, Proceed, Alpheon and major credit cards.

Should I choose veneers or whitening?

If your teeth are healthy and well shaped but stained, professional whitening is usually the right first step and the more conservative treatment. Veneers make sense when the shape, edges or spacing also need changing, or when stains are intrinsic and do not respond to whitening. We recommend the least invasive option that achieves your goal.

Do veneers damage your natural teeth?

Preparing a tooth for a veneer removes a thin layer of enamel, and that layer does not come back, which is why we only prepare teeth when there is a reason to. Some cases can be treated with minimal-preparation veneers or with bonding instead. We show you what would be removed before you agree to treatment.

How long do cosmetic restorations last?

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, porcelain veneers and crowns commonly last well over a decade. Bonding is easier to repair but stains and chips sooner. Grinding is the main threat to any of them, so we fit a night guard when it is a risk. Whitening results fade gradually and are maintained with touch-ups.

Can I see the result before treatment starts?

Yes. We use digital smile design to model the proposed result from your own photographs and scans, and for veneers and crowns you wear temporaries made from the approved design. That gives you a real preview of shape and length in your own mouth, and anything you want changed is changed before the final restorations are made.

What are no-prep veneers, and am I a candidate?

No-prep veneers are very thin porcelain veneers bonded with little or no enamel removal. They suit teeth that are small, spaced or worn short, where adding material improves the shape. Crowded or full-sized teeth usually need a lightly prepared veneer to look natural. A digital smile design shows which option fits your teeth before anything is done.
